Work shown here is predominantly from sketchbooks apart from a few drawings on mount board. Sketchbooks are where all my ideas come from and are essential to me as a place free to play with ideas or just purely enjoy the act of drawing. They are my diary and I always try to keep a record of the the places I have visited and exhibitions I have seen. In the studio they are the resource either for starting new work or a place to work out the direction of a painting.
